Nike x Off-White returns with the Blazer Low Off-White
Virgil Abloh’s sudden passing last November 2021 came as a surprise for his fans as well as the entire sneaker and fashion worlds. His early success caught a lot of attention and totally blew up the hype in 2017 with his “THE TEN” collection. Since then, more Nike x Off-White releases came out. This Nike Blazer Low x Off-White “University Red” is the first Nike Off-White release since Virgil’s death.
Previewed months before Virgil passed away, the shoe finally got a green light for an April 2022 launch. Off-White signature details such as the zip-tie, exterior lacing setup, circular holes, and deconstructed look remain in honor of the fashion genius.
White leather comprises the upper of the Nike Blazer Low x Off-White “University Red”. The Red Swoosh and the heel panel bring life to the shoe.
An eccentric plastic heel piece can be found surrounding the heel area of the sole. It’s one of the most unique design additions to the shoe.
While it may look different for many people, this is a great shoe to honor one of the most daring footwear designers in history.
