The sixth entry in the legendary 990x footwear line by New Balance arrives in 2022. Looking to continue the DNA of the previous models, the 990v6 prepares to make a statement once more.
New Balance has gotten a lot of attention in both the sneaker community and resell market lately. Because of the rising popularity of the vintage retro New Balance 550, other top-rated styles have been getting a lot of love as well.
The New Balance 990 series is a mainstay silhouette that dates back to 1982. Back then, the Boston-based footwear brand’s focus was on running, but as time went by, the New Balance 990 sneakers became a staple choice for casual and lifestyle wear.
Now in 2022, the yet to be announced New Balance 990v6 leans to a smoother and more minimalist shape; while still keeping true 990 DNA in form.
Mesh makes up the body of the shoe, while suede and textile panels cover some parts of the upper for added structure and durability. “N” logos and 990 labels are seen on the sides, as well as the NB logo right on the bottom tongue part.
As of yet, there is no indication on the type of foam used, but the midsole is definitely thick and looks cushy.
Only two colorways have surfaced on the internet, the first is of course the iconic grey and white; while the second is in navy and grey. Keep an eye out for possible updates soon.
