Nike’s Air technology is one of the most dynamic cushioning systems in sneaker history. Starting off as an air bag filled with pressurized air (usually nitrogen) that is embedded within the midsole; Nike Air evolved into an even more effective and efficient source of cushioning and comfort. For 2022, we get another revamped Air Max shoe with the Nike Air Max Scorpion.
There are no official announcements about its release; but just looking at this one photo, it seems to have the most Air on a Nike shoe yet.
The Nike Air Max Scorpion looks to be a transition from the VaporMax line from 2017. The full-length visible Air-Sole unit features large segmented bubbles that are bridged to one another. It’s similar to the heel Air Max unit found on the recently released Air Max 2021; as to which Nike says to be a honeycomb pattern.
A large TPU midsole cage holds the upper and the sole together. Flyknit makes up the entirety of the upper, with fuse mudguard for stability and protection.
Stay tuned for more details once Nike officially unveils the new Air Max Scorpion this year. It’s going to be another intriguing shoe that will catch a lot of attention.
